Tea is a huge part of the economy in Sri Lanka, accounting for 15% of its GDP and employing (directly or indirectly) over a million people. Sri Lankan tea is known as "Ceylon" tea, after the original name of the island. The majority of their production is in black tea, although they also produce white and green teas.
